Help me reach my goal of $5,000

I'm fundraising for the Childhood Dementia Initiative

In April 2027, I'll be walking over 100 kms of the Camino de Santiago to raise funds for the Childhood Dementia Initiative.

Around 1 in every 2,900 children is born with a condition that causes childhood dementia.  Childhood dementia has a similar death rate to childhood cancer, but there is much less funding for research on this devastating disease. 

These children gradually lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, play and eventually recognise their family. Around half of these children die by age 10. Most do not reach adulthood.

I am walking with my sister and other supporters to raise money for this fantastic cause.

In 2025 I walked the Inca trail to raise money for The Childhood Dementia Initiative and was blown away by the wonderful people I walked with who work for and support the charity, by what I learnt about childhood dementia, how devastating it is for the children and their families, how little support some families have received previously and how much more needs to be done to improve their lives.
