Camino de Santiago

I'm fundraising for Childhood Dementia

I’m walking the Camino trail in Spain in April 2027 to raise awareness and funds for Childhood Dementia Initiative, and especially for two beautiful little friends of mine, Isla and Jude, who are living with a type of childhood dementia, Sanfilippo Syndrome.

Most people don’t know dementia even affects children. Sadly, 1 in 2,900 children are born with a type of childhood dementia.

This disease is heartbreaking, and it's heartbreakingly underfunded.

Government funding for childhood dementia is 20 times lower than for childhood cancer, despite a similar death rate. MND also receives far more funding and clinical-trial activity per patient, even though a similar number of people are living with it.

Childhood dementia deserves a fairer share of attention, research and hope.

Supporting my fundraising and the Childhood Dementia Initiative will help do exactly that.

Thanks for your support.
