Walking for childhood dementia
Sunday 20th SepIn April 2027 a group of friends and I are walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain to raise awareness and funds for childhood dementia.
This cause is deeply personal to us. We are friends with Meg, CEO of the childhood dementia initiative and mum to Isla and Jude, who both live with Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare condition that causes childhood dementia.
Every 11 minutes, a child loses their life to childhood dementia. 50% of children living with a childhood dementia condition don’t make it to their 10th birthday. Their lives are short, and they simply can’t wait for treatments.
Childhood dementia has historically been neglected when it comes to research, funding and support.
So, in April, we’ll be taking on 117km of the Camino together walking, laughing, sharing a few adventures along the way , while raising awareness and vital funds for research.
