World-first report finds dementia kills children at similar rate as cancer

Dementia is largely associated with the elderly, but it's a condition that also effects children with a death rate on par with childhood cancers.

The lives of children with dementia are shaped by progressive brain damage, social isolation, pain and suffering.

The newly launched Childhood Dementia Initiative aims to raise awareness and drive a more coordinated response to this under-researched, underfunded and highly neglected condition.
