Help me reach my goal of $14,000

I'm trekking the Inca Trail and fundraising for all children with dementia

Five years ago I met the extraordinary parents of children with dementia and was introduced to the profound inequity and lack of support and treatments that children with dementia face. Since then I have worked with the best team in the world to change how these children are seen, treated and cared for, and the response to our work has been breathtaking: doors have opened, research is growing, pathways are being found, and families are feeling more seen than ever before! 

It is, however, only the very start of an intensely steep mountain for us all to climb: there has been no improvements survivorship, which means that 50% of these children will die before they turn 10, and before 18. 

So please dig deep and donate now - every dollar goes directly to the cause. 

I have met more and more families that are facing a dire future punctuated with a multitude of losses - including the loss of language, mobility, the ability to play, the ability to eat, the ability to recognise their family and friends.  In fact in Australia a baby is born every 4 days with a childhood dementia condition. 

Much like any trek Childhood Dementia Initiative's work requires resilience and grit. We are making change one step at a time. 

As many of you know, trekking requires us to look inwards and find our own personal resilience - especially the sleeping in tents for me!!
