Your donation breaks the darkness
13-year-old Hannah is losing her skills and abilities and a bit more of her life with every day that passes. Her dad, Eli, describes it as “death by a thousand cuts”. But the cuts stay. They don’t heal. And then there’s more.
Hannah’s mum, Rachel, told us: “When you’re facing these constant losses completely alone, it’s a really dark place,” and that finding Childhood Dementia Initiative was like “a shared light that breaks the darkness”.
She describes Childhood Dementia Initiative as, “the support we never had. The information no one gave us. The advocacy that’s changing how families like ours are treated.”
A family somewhere is today hearing the words ‘childhood dementia’ for the first time. Please help us ensure they don’t look for answers in the dark, that they get the support they need, and that urgently-needed research and healthcare improvements are prioritised.
Rachel may not be able to change Hannah’s future. But she is determined to turn the darkness that she and her family have faced into hope.
This Christmas, please unite with Rachel and people across the world to change the world for children like Hannah. Donate now to create a shared light that breaks the darkness.
All donations in Australia over $2 are tax deductible.
